allegiance was recited.

from April 17, 2006 was read. Motioned by Mike Lind, seconded by
Jason Timm to accept the minutes as corrected. Voice vote, all in
favor, motion carried.
The Treasurer’s financial report for
2006 was reviewed. The amount of $8,000.00 for the PoySippi Fire
Department was explained as set-aside money for a department fire
truck. Motioned by Jason Timm, seconded by Mike Lind to accept the

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
-
Fire Siren – The siren was tested
manually in 2006 and would soon be tested again. There are no
guarantees on its’ operation. Someone needs to climb the tower
to set it off. Nine sirens would be needed to cover the entire
town. This appears to be a dead issue and the Clerk was asked
to omit it from the next agenda.
-
Land Use Planning – The County
submitted a grant to the state for funding; it was not
approved. Larger counties used the money. The Land Use Plan for
Saxeville is still tentative.
-
2006 Road Work – No paving was
done in 2006. A lot of crack filling and seal coating was
accomplished and 31st received limestone.
-
There was no other unfinished
business.
NEW BUSINESS
-
Leon-Saxeville Library – The
library director handed out fact sheets on the library. It
lists hours, current programs and ongoing services available at
the library. Both Towns of Saxeville and Leon are included in
the upcoming plans for activities.
-
Road Work Scheduled for 2007 – 31st
needs paving, Alp Rd between 29th and 30th
needs attention. Current costs are $80-$90,000/mile for hot mix
and about $20,000 less for cold mix. $20,000 of brush cutting
will be done. Lange Company is installing the recommended new
size and type of fire signs. They are larger and some signs are
double-sided. The bridge at The Ding area needs work. The
extra dirt on the bridge needs to be removed to reduce the
weight on the bridge to help conserve the bridge. Current road
conditions are tracked on computer. The Board will meet with
the paving contractor to set up a definite plan.
-
The next meeting was set for
Monday, April 21, 2008, 8:00 PM at the Town Hall.
-
There was no other new business.
Motioned by Vern Hess, seconded by
Jason Timm to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 PM. Voice vote, all in
favor, motion carried.
Respectfully
submitted, Virginia Cartwright, Clerk |
