SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN
Town Board Meeting – 4/21/2008
Notice for the meeting was
posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library,
published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site. All
officers were present. There were several visitors. Chairman
Petersen called the meeting to order at 8:45 PM.
The
Clerk’s report of the meeting minutes from March 17, 2008 was read.
The minutes were corrected to read that the TRIP money was to be
used for Alp Road, not North Long Lake Road. Motioned by Supervisor
Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read and
corrected. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The
Treasurer’s report from March 2008 was read. The Certificate of
Deposit that had been set aside for the PoySippi Fire Dept has been
transferred to the checking account for the truck payment. Motioned
by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Chairman Petersen to accept the
report as read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Town Hall Rentals – There are upcoming rentals
scheduled throughout the spring and summer for various events;
church services, baby shower, birthday party, library workshop,
surprise party and bridal shower, plus the weekly mealsite days.
2. There was no other unfinished business.
NEW
BUSINESS
1.
Land Division on Gould Property – The proposal is to
split 9.38 acres from the other parcels on South Long Lake Road –
Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept
the land division as proposed. Voice vote, all in favor, motion
carried.
2. Hecker Gas Station Proposal - Conditional Use –
final approval – There was a lengthy discussion about the light and
noise level that could come from the station. Motioned by
Supervisor Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to approve the Hecker’s
gas station project, with the provision that the Town Board has the
right to approve the site plan for noise and lighting buffers and
traffic flow. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
3. Town Hall Rental for Feral Cat Neuter/Spay Operations
– Mrs Tyler and Mrs Schultz inquired about using the town hall for
feral cat spay/neuter operations. Motioned by Supervisor Lind,
seconded by Supervisor Timm to approve use of the town hall garage
for the feral cat operations, with a $50.00 deposit and no fee for
rent. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
4. Conditional Use – An application has been received to
purchase property near the town hall to be used for training dogs
for use with autistic children. Motioned by Chairman Petersen,
seconded by Supervisor Timm to support that project. Voice vote,
all in favor, motion carried.
5. “Acting-Up” Theatre Classes – Jeannie Lulloff asked
permission to use the hall for children’s basic theatre technique
classes. There would be 4, 75-minute classes on the Tuesdays in
May. Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Timm to
agree to the use of the hall for the classes and to set up the
staging only for the times of the summer and fall theatre
productions. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
6. Abhold Land-Locked Land – Mr Abhold has owned the
landlocked property for 20 years. He had had permission to cross
other landowner’s property to get to his, but the current neighbors
won’t allow that. Chairman Petersen suggested trying hard to work
it out with the neighbors. A copy of the statutes that cover that
situation will be sent to Mr Abhold.
7. Town Safe – No news yet about eh town safe being
stored at Audrey Christensen’s place.
8. Lind Road Mowing Contract – Motioned by Supervisor
Timm, seconded by Chairman Petersen to accept Brad Lind’s bid for
the 2008 roadside mowing. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
9. PoySippi Fire Department – The fire contract for the
2008-2009 year was signed by the Board.
10. There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment
and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.
The next meeting was set for Monday,
May 19, 2008, 8 PM at the town hall.
Motioned by Chairman Petersen,
seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn the meeting at 11:05 PM.
Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
