Saxeville Town Hall
Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting – August 16, 2004
Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville
Library, mailed to and published in the Waushara Argus and published on
the Town’s web site. Chairman Petersen called the meeting to order. All
officers were present. Larry Timm was a visitor.
The
minutes from the meeting on July 19, 2004 were read. Motioned by
Supervisor Hess, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as
read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The Treasurer’s report
for July 2004 was read. The Treasurer will pay the Scott Construction
bill as funds become available. Motioned by Supervisor Hess, seconded
by Chairman Petersen to approve the report as read. Voice vote, all in
favor, motion carried.
The
Board amended the agenda to accommodate visitor, Larry Timm.
Larry Timm, member of the County Land Use Committee, addressed the Board
concerning Saxeville’s Land Use Plan. The Board wants to review the
document this fall yet and make recommendations for any revisions
needed.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Roads – a. Robert MacIntyre Land Division – Mr. MacIntyre was not
present. Chairman Petersen presented a proposal of acceptance.
Motioned by Supervisor Hess, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the
land division as proposed. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
The Board will send the signed proposal to Mark Schumacher. b. The
Board will fill the potholes on 31st, south of Sawdust City
Bar. c. Chairman Petersen will check into the names of two roads in
the town – Aspen Court or Aspen Avenue and Portage Road or Portage
Street.

NEW BUSINESS

Library Board – Motioned by Supervisor Hess, seconded by Chairman
Petersen to approve Maureen Amerongan as a Leon-Saxeville Library
Board member. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

Elections – The Clerk noted the upcoming election on September 14 and
November 2, 2004. The Clerk, Nancy Timm and Mary Lou Oehlke will
attend a “Chief Inspector” training session at the Court House on
August 30. Attendees will be paid the $25.00 workshop fee.

The MSI Insurance Agent wanted to send an insurance proposal for the
Board’s consideration, but the Board declined the offer at this time.

Audrey Christensen submitted a plan for the signboard as a memorial
for Bud. The Board will install the electricity for the structure.

Harold Hansen made and gave a wooden easel for use at the town hall.
The Clerk will send a card of thanks.

There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay
them.
The next meeting was set for Monday,
September 20, 2004, 8 PM at the town hall.
Motioned by Supervisor Hess, seconded by
Chairman Petersen to adjourn the meeting at 9:10 PM. Voice vote, all in
favor, motion carried.
