TOWN OF
SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN
Town Board Meeting – 8/18/2008
Notice for the meeting was posted at
the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, published in
the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site. Spencer Timm, Jim
Sheek and MM Penterman were visitors. All officers were present.
Chairman Petersen called the meeting to order at 8:10 PM.
The Clerk’s report of the meeting
minutes from July 21, 2008 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Timm,
seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read. Voice
vote, all in favor, motion carried. The Treasurer’s report from July
2008 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Chairman
Petersen to accept the report. Voice vote, all in favor, motion
carried
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Waushara County Deputy – no report.
2. Roads – Spencer Timm reported on Alp Road (TRIP
Project). A total of seven culverts will be installed. The
washouts on 4th St and Behm’s road need repair; Faulks
Bros will service this. Several other areas need attention: pothole
on Pine Hill Rd, dead oaks on N. Long Lake Rd, missing signs on
Ferrari Rd, Aspen and 31st, 2-3 culverts are needed on 29th.
New bridge signs were put up. Chairman Petersen straightened the
dock at the public access. Faulks Bros worked on the brush at the
dump. The plan for the John Deere tractor is still undecided.
3. Town Hall Rentals – The children’s play had a
sell-out crowd. More reservations were received for the Saxeville
church VBS, the Lake Kristine group, Saxeville Players rehearsals
and play, a family reunion and a birthday party.
4. Treasurer’s Computer – Heckey’s Computer Service and
Priestly Enterprises provided quotes. Motioned by Chairman Petersen,
seconded by Supervisor Lind to purchase a computer from Priestly
Enterprises. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The
“Office” package and a monitor will be purchased later if needed.
5. Scott Wilson conditional use permit – The use
proposal had been supported by the Board at the July meeting. Now
there was some question about the use of this trailer; living
purposes instead of just recreational use. The County Planning and
Zoning Committee will discuss this at its’ meeting on 8/21/08.
6. Blacksmith Shop Dedication – tabled to the September
meeting.
7. There was no other unfinished business.
NEW BUSINESS
1. New Construction – Work has begun on the land with
the gas station proposal for Saxeville. The area is being logged
off, with trees left intact wherever possible.
2. Rustic Road – The town may make use of a grant
program to improve the signage on that length of road.
3. Land Use Plan – The board signed the contract with
Schreiber/Anderson Associates, Inc to update the town’s land
management plan to a comprehensive plan at the county level. The
cost will be under $4,000.00, which is in the 2008 budget. Several
names were suggested for a town planning committee to work on the
plan; the committee will be formed at the September meeting.
4. There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment
and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.
The next meeting was set for Monday,
September 15, 2008, 8 PM at the town hall.
Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded
by Supervisor Timm to adjourn the meeting at 9:20 PM. Voice vote,
all in favor, motion carried.
