Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting – December 15, 2003

Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, both town halls, the Leon-Saxeville Library, mailed to and published in the Waushara Argus and published on the Town’s web site. Chairman Petersen called the meeting to order at 8:10 PM.  All officers were present. Visitors included Nils Dahlstrand, Tim Jenks, Pat Nehring and Brian Glatz.

The Clerk’s report of the meeting minutes from November 17, 2003 was read.  Motioned by Supervisor Hess, second by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s report from November 2003 was read.  Motioned by Supervisor Hess, second by Chairman Peterson to approve the report as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

  1. Roads – Supervisors Lind and Hess are plowing some town roads.  Glen Erdman plows the Saxeville residential area.

 

  1. Land Use Planning – Nils Dahlstrand reported the progress of other plans in the county.  He was wondering how the Board was doing with its’ study of the Saxeville plan.  The Board plans to continue its’ work in the next three months; perhaps meeting with large landowners in the town.  The ultimate goal is to have a plan that the landowners are comfortable with.

 

  1. Long Lake Association – The DNR is making no plans to remove the muskies from Long Lake.  Motioned by Supervisor Lind, second by Supervisor Hess to show non-monetary support for an aquatic plant study planned for the lake.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

 

  1. There was no other old business.

 

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Brian Glatz addressed the Board concerning beer and cigarette licenses for the General

      Store, which he is currently operating. He was advised to take the 4-hour bartender’s

      course, and submit his applications.  If the beer application has been published in the

      Argus, it could be acted on at the January meeting.

 

  1. There was no other new business.

 

The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.

The next meeting was set for Monday, January 19, 2004, 8 PM at the town hall.

Motioned by Supervisor Lind, second by Supervisor Hess to adjourn the meeting at 9:40 PM.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
