TOWN
OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN
Meeting held at Saxeville Town Hall
January 20, 2003
Notice
for the meeting was posted at the dump and both town halls, mailed to and
published in the Waushara Argus and published on the Town’s web site.
Chairman Christensen called the meeting to order. All officers were
present.
The
Clerk’s minutes from December 16, 2002 were read and approved. The
Treasurer’s report for December 2002 was read. Motion by Supervisor Lind,
second by Chairman Christensen to accept the Treasurer’s report as read.
Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
-
Roads – The bridges on Pine Hill and Akron Roads are presently too
narrow for wide equipment. Motion by Supervisor Petersen, second by
Supervisor Lind to hire the curbs removed at $25/foot and reinstall
guard railings on the bridges. Voice vote, all in favor, motion
carried.

NEW BUSINESS
1.
Spring Primary
Election, Tuesday, February 18, 2003. Three poll workers will be hired,
since voter turnout is expected to be small.

The WI Towns Association Unit meeting was
noted for January 29, 2003 at Silvercryst in Wautoma. Three plan to
attend.

The Length of Service Award Guidelines for
the Saxeville-Springwater Fire Department was presented. The Board will
keep the report on file.

The Board signed the 2003 Poy Sippi Fire
Department Rescue Service contract. The cost is $1300.00.

The WI Towns Association District meeting
was noted for Friday, March 21, 2003 at Ripon. Attendance will be
discussed at the February meeting.

The Library requested use of the town hall
for a movie night on Friday, February 28, from 6-9pm. There will be no
charge for the use of the hall. Motion by Supervisor Petersen, second
by Supervisor Lind to approve the use of the town hall for a “Library
Movie Night” on Friday, February 28, 2003. Voice vote, all in favor,
motion carried.

Ammon Construction Co wishes to bid on
sand and gravel owned by the town, to be used on Hwy A, from Hwy E to 30th
or 31st. Perhaps Ammon would trade black top for the raw
materials. Motion by Supervisor Petersen, second by Supervisor Lind to
allow Ammon Construction Co to pursue the permit and bidding process for
town-owned sand and gravel. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

The Board signed the Adams-Columbia
Electric Company contract for power lines right-of-way for 2003.

The Treasurer presented 4 tax bills that
were paid under protest.

There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay
them.
The
next meeting was set for Monday, February 17, 2003, 8 PM at the town hall.
Motioned by Supervisor Petersen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn
the meeting at 9pm.
