Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting – January 17, 2005

Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, mailed to and published in the Waushara Argus and published on the Town’s web site. Chairman Petersen called the meeting to order.  All officers were present.  Visitors included Brian Glatz, Glen and Jason Timm.

The minutes from the meeting on December 20, 2004 were read.  Motioned by Supervisor Hess, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

The Treasurer’s report for December 2004 was read.  Motioned by Supervisor Hess, seconded by Chairman Peterson to accept the report as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

Tom Clark was not present to discuss a land division.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

  1. Roads – A certificate of insurance was received for Glen Erdman.  Glen Erdman and Brian Glatz will do the snow plowing. The Board and Scott Herling toured the roads for brush cutting needs. There will be 2-3 weeks of brushwork.
  2. Chairman Petersen billed the Town of Springwater for their share of the Fire Department Length of Service Award Program.
  3. There was no other old business.

 

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Election – The spring primary is set for February 15, 2005.  Three poll workers will be hired.  A low voter turnout is expected.
  2. Voters – Wisconsin has initiated a statewide voter registration system.  Waushara County has volunteered to implement and maintain voter registration for any municipality who so desires. The Town of Saxeville needs a resolution supporting that stance.  It will be a February agenda item.
  3. There was no other new business.

 

The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.

The next meeting was set for Monday, February 21, 2005, 8 PM at the town hall.

Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Hess to adjourn the meeting at 9:05 PM.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
