UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1.
MM Fran Penterman - ATV Track – Mr
Penterman questioned the detail of the Clerk’s minutes from
previous meetings. The Clerk is responsible for recording the
substance of every official action taken by the board, not a
detailed description of everything that transpires at a meeting.
The Pentermans remain upset with a decision made against the
track at the county level, but presented no new evidence in the
matter. They plan to appeal the decision in the courts.
2.
Fire Department Sections Coverage –
Fire Chief Tom Marini lettered the Sheriff’s Department to add
Saxeville land sections 22 and 27 to the Saxeville/Springwater
coverage area; both Poy Sippi and Saxeville/Springwater Fire
Departments will protect both sections. PSFD remains the
contracted department.
3.
Roads – Chairman Petersen and
Supervisor Timm have repaired potholes. Signs were ordered for
Iowa Court, 28th and Sunny Hill Road. Downed trees on
Twin Lake Road and 29th were cleaned up. Brian Glatz
may be called for emergency roadwork. Chairman Petersen will
check on brushing needed in The Ding area. The Lakes Association
put up nice looking, informational signs at the lake access.
4.
Town Hall Rentals – Plays presented
by the Saxeville Players and the children’s group will use the
hall on August 10, 11, 12, 25 and 26.
5.
There was no other unfinished
business.
NEW BUSINESS
1.
Dittmann Land Division – After
discussion, it was motioned by Supervisor Lind and seconded by
Supervisor Timm to approve Donald Dittmann’s land division for
two separate lots on 31st Road.
Voice vote, all in favor,
motion carried.
2.
Assessor Contract 2008 – Chairman
Petersen read a letter from John Blader who was applying for the
2008 assessor contract. Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded
by Supervisor Lind to hire John Blader as the assessor for 2008
for $6,000.00. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
3.
Christ Property – The agreement with
the Town of Saxeville for the well on the property needs to be
approved every time there is a property transfer. This
eliminates drilling a new well each time there is a sale. The
property is currently for sale.
4.
Complaints:
a. ATV Noise at Cty Rd TT and S Long Lake Road - There was
a heated discussion on this matter. Both sides of the
argument apologized and seemed to want to work on a compromise.
The WI Towns Association will provide a model ATV ordinance to
assist the board in formulating a plan.
b. Dr Lulloff, representing
the Long Lake Association, reported about the trespassing at the
public access, due to the low water level. He asked the board to
consider extending the current fence line. The board will check
into this.
c. Public access on S Long
Lake Road – After discussion, it was motioned by Supervisor
Lind, seconded by Supervisor Timm to get that area surveyed and
corner-staked by Mark Carlovsky for public usage. Voice vote,
all in favor, motion carried.
5.
LOSA – The board received a report
that contract values were up to $50,000.00 for the Saxeville/Springwater
Fire Department’s Length of Service Award Program. The Poy Sippi
Fire Department plans to enter that program very soon.
6.
There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was
instructed to pay them.
The next meeting was set for Monday, August 20, 8 PM at the town
hall.
Motioned by Chairman Petersen, seconded by Supervisor Timm to
adjourn the meeting at 9:30 PM. Voice vote, all in favor, motion
carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Virginia Cartwright, Town Clerk
