 TOWN OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN

Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting – June 19, 2006

Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site.  Visitors included Dion Diehl, Alice Prill, Gabe Malicoat, Duane Kraase and Justin Bechard.   Chairman Petersen called the meeting to order at 8:10 PM.

The Clerk’s report of the meeting minutes from May 15, 2006 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

The Treasurer’s report from May 2006 was read.  Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Chairman Petersen to accept the report as read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to change the evening’s agenda to accommodate business to be presented by visitors.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

Dion Diehl, a fire works display professional, requested a permit for a small fireworks display at the Dennis and Alice Prill residence for 7/1/06.  Chairman Petersen suggested they talk with the neighbors; Supervisor Timm will notify the Poy Sippi Fire Dept.  The Board signed the permit.

Justin Bechard presented a land division for an 18-acre parcel, which is across from Lake Kristine and north of the Buehler subdivision.  He wishes to divide it into 4 separate lots. Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to support the Bechard land division as presented.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

1.      Roads – Scott Construction Co has finished all the repairs in our area. The roads appear to be in good shape now. 

2.      Hall Rentals – Upcoming Rentals: A 3-day Boat Safety Course will be taught at the hall beginning 7/1.  The Long Lake Assoc meeting is July 1.

3.      The Clerk mentioned the poll worker training at the courthouse on August 7.  The election inspectors will be trained on the new voting machines.

4.      There was no other unfinished business.

 

NEW BUSINESS

  1. John Blader had applied for the assessor position for the 2006-2007 assessment year.  Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Chairman Petersen to hire John Blader as the assessor for 2006-2007.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
  2. Liquor, beer, wine, cigarette and operator’s licenses from Saxeville General Store, The Ding, Sawdust City Bar, Crossroads Café and The Sax/Spr Fire Dept were offered for renewal consideration.  Motioned by Chairman Petersen, seconded by Supervisor Timm to accept all license renewals as presented.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

There was no other new business.

The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.

The next meeting was set for Monday, July 17, 2006, 8:00 PM at the town hall.

The meeting adjourned at 9:10PM.
