Private Road Naming – Two
names, Sunny Hill Rd and Watersmeet Rd, had been used for a
street in downtown Saxeville. It was decided that Sunny
Hill Rd would be the name to be used. The Sheriff’s
Department, emergency units and the post office have been
notified. The Town will purchase the sign with the fire
numbers and Lange Co will install it.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Roads – The Town owes the
County Highway Department $103.09 in retroactive rate
increases. The Board will set a date, possibly April 7, to
inspect the roads with the Crack Fillers. The Board removed
old tires discarded along the roadsides. Several road areas
need attention: the pothole on Archer, off 30th,
near the dead end, a washout on Apollo Lane near Bill Tarr’s,
the pothole on 30th, south of Fraedrich’s,
Portage, Willow and Oak Sts in the village need wedging.
2. Hall Rentals – $46.00
receipts from the exercise class, Jeannie Lulloff’s summer
plays have been cancelled. Bauer’s rental deposit check may
be returned; the hall was left in good condition.
3. There was no other
unfinished business.
NEW BUSINESS
-
Election April 4 – The
Board approved hiring 7 poll workers for the election.
The voter turnout was expected to be low, but the Clerk
wanted all the workers to have experience with the new
voter registration system. A training session for the
poll workers will be held on April 3. The Clerk has
been and will be attending learning and listening
workshops that will lead up to the purchase of one
voting machine for Saxeville’s polling place. The
County has offered to “upfront” monies for our voting
machine. Motioned by Chairman Petersen, seconded by
Supervisor Timm to enter into a memo of understanding
between Waushara County and the Town of Saxeville for
the purpose of Cooperative Purchasing of Handicap
Accessible Voting Equipment.
-
Town Hall – Rockwood will
be contacted to pump and inspect the septic tank at the
hall.
-
Complaints have been
received concerning Lyle Dorn’s car business. The county
is after Mr. Dorn to move the vehicles away from the
road to meet regulations.
-
Mower – The town’s lawn
tractor is in rough shape. The Board learned of a good
used tractor for $1,000 at Waupaca Power & Equipment.
Perhaps the old one could be traded in. A trailer would
be needed to haul the new mower.
5. There was no other new
business.
The bills were presented for
payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.
The next meeting was set for
Monday, April 17, 2006, following the Annual Meeting.
Motioned by Supervisor Lind,
seconded by Supervisor Timm to adjourn the meeting at 9:50
PM. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Virginia Cartwright, Town
Clerk
