OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN
Meeting held at Saxeville Town Hall
May
19, 2003
Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, both town halls, the
Leon-Saxeville Library, mailed to and published in the Waushara Argus
and published on the Town’s web site. Chairman Petersen called the
meeting to order at 8:10 PM. All officers were present. Visitors
included: Len Brasch, Tom Marini and Dan Biermeier (Scott Construction).
Mr.
Biermeier presented road work bids from Scott Construction for $109,971
for Pine Hill Road, Archer Ave, Popple Creek Road, East Long Lake Road
and Clark’s Mill Road. The Board will wait for other bids to be
received.
Tom
Marini, Poy Sippi Fire Department Chief reported on the new truck for
the department and the payments from the towns of Poy Sippi and
Saxeville.
Len
Brasch spoke of the repairs at Long Lake: the signage at the boat
landing has been updated, the water pipe for the fire department needs
to be reset, another sign to discourage boat power loading will be put
up.
The Clerk’s minutes from April 21, 2003
were read. Motioned by Supervisor Hess, second by Supervisor Lind to
approve the Clerk’s report. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report for April 2003 was read. Motioned by Supervisor
Hess, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the Treasurer’s report as
read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
OLD
BUSINESS
-
Roads – a. Washouts on North Long Lake Road and East Long Lake Road
will be filled, Culvert on Clark’s Mill Road needs attention, and
Spruce Drive and Pine Drive need grading. b. Chairman Petersen will
contact Brad Lind about mowing the town roads.
c.
Road near Harold Hansen’s has been renamed as Apollo Lane.
d.
The bridge report from the County suggested that grass be removed and
“narrow bridge” markings be installed over Austin Creek on Pine Hill
Road.
e.
Chairman Petersen contacted WE Energies to disconnect the streetlights
at Clark’s Mill. By the contract for the lighting, signed in 1959, there
should be no disconnect fee. The WE Energies Appleton engineer quoted
$540.00 to disconnect. The matter is not settled.
f.
The roadwork plan for 2003 was tabled to the June meeting.

Old Town Hall – Motioned by Supervisor Hess, second by Supervisor Lind
passing a resolution to give the old Saxeville Town Hall to the
Saxeville/Springwater Fire Department. Voice vote, all in favor,
motion carried. The Board signed the resolution and will send it,
along with a copy of the 2003 annual meeting minutes to Attorney
Dutcher. Chairman Petersen and Clerk Cartwright will sign the
necessary paperwork at Dutcher’s office.

Dump Inspection – The dump was inspected by the DNR. Bud Christensen
will do the mowing at the dump once per year.

Glen Timm will be contacted to do the mowing at the cemetery.

New Town Hall - Bud Christensen will do the mowing. The charge for
using the hall garage with a rental will be $5.00 extra. Cabinets will
be hung and bookshelves purchased for storage and printed materials
for the public. The septic system needs inspection. The main floor
will be stripped and waxed. Three fire extinguishers were installed.
Supervisor Hess will investigate the need for smoke detectors.
Chairman Petersen put the hall on the keep-full program with L & L
Propane.

Credit Card – Bud Christensen will be reinstated on the Town’s card to
allow for purchases for Town materials.

Loan Payment – An additional payment on the town hall was tabled to
the June meeting.

NEW
BUSINESS
-
Mark Hansen and Mark Dittman were not
present to discuss their land divisions.

License Renewals – The Clerk reported
that most of the paperwork for the license renewals had been received
and was in proper order. The renewals will be processed at the June
meeting.

There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay
them.
The
next meeting was set for Monday, June 16, 2003, 8 PM at the town hall.
Motioned by Supervisor Hess, seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn the
meeting at 11:00 PM. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
