OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN
Saxeville Town Hall
Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting – July 21, 2003
Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, both town halls, the
Leon-Saxeville Library, mailed to and published in the Waushara Argus
and published on the Town’s web site. Chairman Petersen called the
meeting to order at 8:20 PM. All officers except Supervisor Hess were
present. Mark Zitzer and John Blader were visitors.
The
Clerk and Treasurer’s reports from June 2003 were read. Motioned by
Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Petersen to accept the reports
as read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
Mark
Zitzer was present to discuss his purchase of the Christ property. The
well is located on town property. The board will prepare a resolution
to be acted on at the August meeting, granting an easement for the well,
to whomever owns the property, as along as the well is operational.
John
Blader, assessor – New laws for farmland preservation credits, probably
going into effect, will impact about 400 parcels in the town for the
2004 taxes. The board will add $2500 to the budget for the assessor
contract for 2004 to cover the extra work.
OLD BUSINESS

Roads – Scott Construction and Faulks Bros are finishing the road
projects. Scott will be paid $60,000 now with the remainder due after
the November meeting. The town roads need to be rated, but the
state’s software program won’t be available until September. The board
is checking into the purchase of a traffic counter. Potholes are
being filled and “Slow – Children” and “Stop” signs will be ordered as
necessary. Elwyn Christensen will mow the old town dump once per year.

Old Town Hall – The board will remove the remainder of town items from
the old hall. Gas and electric utilities will be notified of the
change of ownership.

There was no other old business.
NEW BUSINESS
-
Town Hall Janitor – Michelle Cartwright turned in her resignation.
Supervisor Lind will ask Kathy Lind about taking the job.

Several town residents received letters from the county: Brian Glatz,
concerning his business; George Miller, cited for items near the road;
Glen Erdman, to clean up pit area; Curt Cartwright, owning wild cats,
neighbors upset; Russ Wendt, travel trailer on building site too long.

Long Lake Association – The Association passed a resolution that the
DNR should support the muskie program at the lake or remove the fish
from the area. A sign for no power boat loading was installed at the
landing.

Public Access – the sign for the access on South Long Lake Rd needs to
be reinstalled.

There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay
them.
The
next meeting was set for Monday, August 18, 2003, 8 PM at the town hall.
Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Chairman Petersen to adjourn
the meeting at 10:15 PM. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
