OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN
Saxeville Town Hall
Meetings – November 17, 2003
Notice for the three meetings was posted at the dump, both town halls,
the Leon-Saxeville Library, mailed to and published in the Waushara
Argus and published on the Town’s web site. Chairman Petersen called the
first meeting to order at 8:15 PM. All officers except Treasurer
Seefelt were present. Visitors included Ken and Lacinda Hanson, Karen
Hansen and Len Brasch.
A. PUBLIC HEARING ON
PROPOSED BUDGET FOR 2004.
The
proposed budget was studied and questions discussed and answered. It
was decided to remove the $200 allotted for lights at Clark’s Mill and
$500 for the public access.
Motioned by Len Brasch, seconded by Karen Hansen to accept the budget as
amended. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
Motioned by Karen Hansen, seconded by Len Brasch to close the budget
hearing. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
B. SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
Motioned by Karen Hansen, seconded by Len
Brasch to adopt the 2003 town tax levy to be paid in 2004 at
$175,169.20. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
C. ASSESSOR JOHN BLADER
Mr.
Blader informed the board that swampland value would be cut in half,
affecting about 400 parcels. Another grade of land has been added,
class 5M agricultural forestland.
Land
use penalty charges will be added to the tax bills where the penalty has
not been paid.
The
town should plan for a reassessment in 2005. It will be necessary by law
to conduct a revaluation.
D. REGULAR MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING
The
Clerk and Treasurer’s reports from October 2003 were read and approved.
OLD BUSINESS
-
Roads – The roads have been rated and the report submitted to the
state. TRIP monies have been applied for. Sand for winter road use
will be stockpiled at Supervisor Lind’s farm. The board plans to do
the plowing in the Long Lake area.

WE
Energies will remove the lights at Clark’s Mill for $24.00. The board
signed a document to discontinue service at that area.

2004 Budget – Motioned by Supervisor Hess, seconded by Chairman
Petersen to adopt the 2004 budget as amended at the budget hearing.
Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

There was no other old business.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Ken and Lacinda Hanson – Land
Division – CTH TT & A & E – Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by
Supervisor Hess to approve the land division as reported. Voice vote,
all in favor, motion carried. The board signed papers for the Hansons
indicating their approval.

There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay
them.
The
next meeting was set for Monday, December15, 2003, 8 PM at the town
hall.
The
meeting adjourned at 9:50 PM.
