OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN

Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting – September 15, 2003
Notice
for the meeting was posted at the dump, both town halls, the Leon-Saxeville
Library, mailed to and published in the Waushara Argus and published on
the Town’s web site. Chairman Petersen called the meeting to order at 8:10
PM. All officers were present. Visitors include Kim Lindloff, Gary Bahr
and Gary Westrocker.
The
Clerk and Treasurer’s reports from August 2003 were read. Motioned by
Supervisor Hess, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the reports as
read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. Motioned by Supervisor
Hess, seconded by Supervisor Lind to pay the remainder of the Scott
Construction bill of $27,934.53. Voice vote, all in favor, motion
carried.
Gary
Bahr, a representative from the Long Lake Association reported that boats
are still being power loaded at the public landing. Other lake areas are
charging fees at the public access, enforced through the county court
system, to help with access upkeep. Chairman Petersen and Bud Christensen
will fill in at the access with large boulders. The Long Lake Association
is in favor of some type of boat/trailer parking fee. Handicap parking is
also being considered.
The
Association is looking for support from the town for their resolution to
remove the muskies from the lake. Motioned by Supervisor Hess, seconded by
Chairman Christensen to support the Long Lake Association to remove the
muskies from Long Lake. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS

Roads – The crack fillers have finished for the season. Chairman
Petersen ordered and installed street signs. Bud Christensen mowed the
old dump area and in the Lake Kristine area which will be billed for
$25.00. The roads will be rated again in the next weeks. The traffic
counter is assembling count numbers.

WI
Towns Association - The convention is in mid-October at Green Bay;
Chairman Petersen will attend part time.

Old
Town Hall Siren - The town will continue to supply the siren for the
tornado warning. It can be set off manually.

New
Town Hall Janitor – none has been hired, perhaps it is not needed at
this time.

MSI
vs. Rural Insurance – Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by
Supervisor Hess to continue with Rural Insurance Company and study the
quotes from both companies. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

Appointment of Leon-Saxeville Library Board Member – The board read and
signed a new agreement presented by the Library board calling for five
representatives from the Town of Leon and three from the Town of
Saxeville.

There was no other old business.
NEW BUSINESS
-
Mark
Zitzer, current owner of the former Christ property requested a
notarized copy of the resolution concerning the well on town property.
The Chair and Clerk will have their signatures properly notarized.

Clark’s Mill Street Lights - WE Energies still insists on a $500.00 fee
to disconnect. The matter is not settled.

There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay
them.
The
next meeting was set for Monday, September15, 2003, 8 PM at the town hall.
Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Hess to adjourn the
meeting at 10:50 PM. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
