Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting – September 20, 2004

Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, mailed to and published in the Waushara Argus and published on the Town’s web site. Chairman Petersen called the meeting to order.  All officers except Treasurer Seefelt were present.  Visitors included Len Brasch and MM Thomas Pias.

The minutes from the meeting on August 16, 2004 were read.  Motioned by Supervisor Hess, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

The Board amended the agenda to accommodate visitors MM Thomas Pias. They presented a proposal for a land variance.  Their land is located on 26th Rd and Cty TT.  The usual entrance would be from 26th, but that would not safe or totally accessible.  They requested a letter of support from the Board for a driveway from Cty TT.  The matter will be an agenda item for the October meeting.

Len Brasch read a request from Jeannie Lulloff for a Saxeville fitness group to use the town hall 2-3 mornings per week, year round.  The Town would receive a portion of the fees collected from members of the group, to be used as a small rental fee.  Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Hess to accept her proposal for a 6-month trial period.  Voice vote, all in favor, motioned carried.

A letter of thanks from Jeannie Lulloff for use of the town hall for the recent play production was read. A check for $100.00 for use of the hall from the Saxeville Players was accepted.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

  1. Roads – Several trees in the town were noted for spring removal.  A “School Bus Stop Ahead” sign was put on Archer Ave. Brad Lind will mow a final round in October.
  2. Town Hall Sign – Clayton Petersen is putting up the Christensen memorial signboard in front of the town hall.
  3. There was no other old business.

 

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Fire Department Sections - Harold Hansen and several residents in his area have inquired about having the Saxeville-Springwater FD serve them, since they are about three miles closer than the Poy Sippi FD.  The Board will check into the matter.
  2. Town Hall Floor – The Board will have the floor cleaned prior to the winter season.
  3. Correspondence – from Jim Miller, County Land Use Committee Chairman, requests a representative and an alternate from the Town to attend County meetings.  The meetings are scheduled over a 4-year span.  The Board will decide by the October meeting.
  4. There was a request for cleanup of the Curt Cartwright property in Saxeville.
  5. There was no other new business.

 

The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.

The next meeting was set for Monday, October 18, 2004, 8 PM at the town hall.

Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Hess to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 PM.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
