TOWN OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN

Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting – May 15, 2006

Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site. All officers were present. Visitors were Ruth Penterman and Len Braasch.   Chairman Petersen called the meeting to order.

The Clerk’s report of the meeting minutes from April 17, 2006 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

The Treasurer’s report from April 2006 was read.  Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the report as read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

  1. Roads –  31st Rd has been ground and regraveled and the crack filling is all finished.  The ditch at Cty M and 31st was cleaned and stumps removed.  Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Chairman Petersen to reimburse Dale Tietz for the ditch clean up work on Cty M and 31st.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.  Tom Dahlke will inspect the bridges on White Bridge Rd and near the Ding.  The Clerk was asked to pay Richard Cartwright $15.00 an hour for tree cleanup in the Long Lake area following a storm.
  1. Hall Rentals – Upcoming Rentals: 6/3 Linda Drews, 6/4 Julie Handy, 6/11 Nellie Jorgensen, and 6/17 Kettelwells. A 3-day Boat Safety Course will be taught at the hall beginning 7/1.  The Long Lake Assoc  meeting is July 1.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Conditional Use Permit – Ruth Penterman was present to request support for a 20-dog kennel license. They operate a rescue-rehab facility for dogs and several other animals.  They intend to breed AKC dogs and take in special needs animals.  The USDA and DNR routinely inspect the facility.  Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Chairman Petersen to support Ruth Penterman’s application for a conditional use permit.  Chairman Petersen will send a letter of support to the county.
  2. Len Braasch, representing the exercise group, reported that the group will discontinue its’ use of the hall for the time being, It may restart at a later time. Len expressed the appreciation of the ladies for the use of the hall.  They wish to donate $370 to the hall; perhaps “Friends of Long Lake” would provide a money match to be used for a larger project.  Also, the Saxeville Players play is not a “go” yet.  Many more actors have to commit before the production could begin.
  3. Lawn Mower – A used Dixon riding mower was purchased for $1,000.00.  The Board decided to keep the old mower for a backup unit.

 There was no other new business.

The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.

The next meeting was set for Monday, June 19, 2006, 8:00 PM at the town hall.

The meeting adjourned at 9:20PM.
