TOWN OF
SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN
Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting – 8/20/2007
Notice for the meeting was
posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library,
published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site. All
officers were present. Visitors included Fran and Ruth
Penterman, Spencer Timm, Matt, Leah and Ken Hanson, John Nigbor,
Diana Gordon Brian Glatz and Dawn Inderdahl. Chairman Petersen
called the meeting to order at 8:00 PM.
The Clerk’s report of the meeting
minutes from July 16, 2007 was read. Motioned by Supervisor
Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as
read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The Treasurer’s
report from July 2007 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Timm,
seconded by Chairman Petersen to accept the report as read.

UNFINISHED
BUSINESS
1.
Roads – New street and stop signs
will be placed as needed. Supervisor Timm took care of
storm-downed trees. Trees on Saxeville Road need trimming.
“Slow – Children” and speed signs will be put up on Aspen.
Brushing and sand removal are needed at the Ding bridge. Wood
pieces will be removed from South Long Lake Road. Before the end
of November the Board will rate the roads for the paserware
computer program. Twenty-six feet of fence was added to each
side of the lake access to dissuade trespassing. A flashing
yellow light was purchased for emergency roadwork.
2.
Town Hall Rentals – the children’s
theater group will use the hall on August 25 and 26. Other
rentals are for the Lake Kristine annual meeting, Michelle
Cartwright, Kosaboskies, Schulkes and Kettelwells.

NEW
BUSINESS
1.
Blacksmith Shop Restoration Variance
– Chairman Petersen read a letter of support from Terry and
Ellen Eisch. An in-favor petition with over 300 signatures is
also available. Motioned by Chairman Petersen, seconded by
Supervisor Lind to support the blacksmith shop restoration
project. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. Chairman
Petersen will take a letter of such support to the Waushara
County Board of Adjustments.
2.
Village Snow Plowing Contract –
After discussion it was motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by
Supervisor Timm to plow the village roads with the Town of
truck. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. Brian Glatz
will do that plowing and sanding.
3.
Margaret Stemper – Sunny Hill Road –
no one appeared on behalf of this topic.
4.
Library Board Representatives –
After discussion it was motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by
Supervisor Timm to appoint Carol Schliepp as a trustee and
Barbara Sobralske as the school representative to the Leon/Saxeville
Library Board. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
5.
Tom Rusch Land Division – Mr Rusch
was not present for this discussion. The land lies on the
corner of Cty Hwy E and TT. Reportedly, the plan calls for two
15-acre lots and two 4.5-acre lots. The Board would need to
approve a certified survey map. Hansons are concerned about the
corner lots and many driveways.
6.
Walters MFL Lands – Robert Walters
had land in MFL, but is withdrawing from the plan. He will be
responsible for back taxes, but no penalties will be assessed.
7.
There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for
payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.
The next meeting was set for
Monday, September 17, 8 PM at the town hall.
Motioned by Supervisor Timm,
seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn the meeting at 8:50 PM.
