UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1.
There was no report from the sheriff’s department.
2. Roads – Many good reports were received on the
snowplowing this winter. The Board will meet with the crack filling
company to formulate a plan for repairs for this summer, for
presentation at the annual meeting in April. Alp Road needs
patching or gravel fill along with replacement culverts. About
$23,000 will be received from the TRIP program, possibly for work on
North Long Lake Road or Twin Lake Road.
3. Town Hall Rentals – There are upcoming rentals
scheduled throughout the spring and summer for various events;
church services, baby shower, birthday party, library workshop,
surprise party and bridal shower, plus the weekly mealsite days.
4. There was no other unfinished business.
NEW
BUSINESS
1. Hecker Gas Station Proposal - Zone Change and
Variance on Cty A between Pine and Willow St – Bonnie Hecker has
applied to the county for a zone change and variances to establish a
gas station and convenience store with related services in the
village of Saxeville. There was a lengthy discussion with several
area residents voicing their opinions and concerns. Chairman
Petersen called for a straw poll; it was an even-up split. Motioned
by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Timm to remain neutral in
the matter. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The Waushara
County Board of Adjustments and County Planning and Zoning Committee
will decide on the application on March 27, 2008. Chairman Petersen
encouraged all to attend that meeting.
2. Supervisor Timm was contacted by a homeowner in the
Clark’s Mill area, whose insurance fee was raised because of being
more than 5 miles from a fire station. Jason was going to try to
help, suggesting maybe a private contract with the Town of
Bloomfield Fire Department.
3. Old Safe – The town’s old safe is still at Audrey
Christensen’s place. She would like it moved. Supervisor Timm will
check into that.
4. There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment
and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.
The next meeting was set for Monday,
April 21, 2008, 8 PM at the town hall.
Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded
by Supervisor Timm to adjourn the meeting at 10:35 PM. Voice vote,
all in favor, motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Virginia Cartwright, Town Clerk
