TOWN OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN
Town Board Meeting – 5/19/2008
Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the
Leon-Saxeville Library, published in the Waushara Argus and on the
Town’s web site. All officers were present. Visitors included Leah &
Ken Hanson and John Nigbor. Chairman Petersen called the meeting to
order at 8:05 PM.
The Clerk’s report of the meeting minutes from April 21, 2008 was
read. The minutes were corrected to read that it is Mrs Teubert, not
Mrs Tyler who is involved with the feral cat project. Motioned by
Supervisor Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes
as read and corrected. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The
Treasurer’s report from April 2008 was read. The Certificate of
Deposit that had been set-aside for the PoySippi Fire Dept has been
transferred to the checking account, which realizes more interest.
Rockwood’s still have not paid the personal property tax. Motioned
by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Chairman Petersen to accept the
report as read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Waushara County Deputy – no report.
2. Roads – The Board has put together the bid specifications for the
work on Alp Road. It will be published in the Argus. Bid opening
will be held at the next meeting. If enough monies permit, some
wedging will be done, along with seal coating on N Long Lake Rd.
Brad Lind will fix the water run-off near the blacksmith shop in
Saxeville.
3. Town Hall Rentals – More reservations were made for quilting
classes during the summer and a Long Lake Association boat
inspections class on May31st.
4. Treasurer’s Computer – Treasurer Seefelt was asked to gather
information from several sources, that perhaps a decision could be
made by September in order to prepare in time for the tax season.
5. Vicky Pingel Conditional Use – An application has been received
to purchase property near the town hall to be used for training dogs
for use with autistic children. The county approved the application.
6. “Acting-Up” Theatre Classes – The classes are going well. About
twelve children have been attending.
7. Town Safe – Someone will take the town safe being stored at
Audrey Christensen’s place.
8. Town Mower – The old mower will be fixed and used as a spare for
the time being.
9. There was no other unfinished business.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Assessor – Because of new assessment laws, Mr Blader has spent
considerable time updating the 405 agricultural values in the Town
of Saxeville. Motioned by Chairman Petersen, seconded by Supervisor
Lind to compensate John with $1215.00 for his extra work. Voice
vote, all in favor, motion carried.
2. Licenses – All the beer, liquor, cigarette and operator’s
licenses are up for renewal as of July 1, 2008. This will be on the
June agenda. Brian Glatz is not renewing the licenses for the
General Store.
3. The Board signed the conditional use permit for the Hecker Gas
Station Proposal. It will be sent to the county.
4. There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to
pay them.
The next meeting was set for Monday, June 16, 2008, 8 PM at the town
hall.
Motioned by Chairman Petersen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to
adjourn the meeting at 8:50 PM. Voice vote, all in favor, motion
carried.
