TOWN OF
SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN
Town Board Meeting – 9/15/2008
Notice for the meeting was
posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library,
published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site. Spencer
Timm, Ken, Leah and Matt Hansen, Brad Lind and Ruth Penterman were
visitors. All officers were present. Chairman Petersen called the
meeting to order at 8:10 PM.
The Pledge of allegiance was spoken.
The Clerk’s report of the meeting
minutes from August 18, 2008 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Timm,
seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read. Voice
vote, all in favor, motion carried. The Treasurer’s report from
August 2008 was read. Rockwood’s personal property tax still has not
been received. Motioned by Supervisor Timm, seconded by Chairman
Petersen to accept the report. Voice vote, all in favor, motion
carried
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Waushara County Deputy – no report.
2. Roads – The work on Alp Road (TRIP Project) has been
completed. Motioned by Chairman Petersen, seconded by Supervisor
Lind to pay $85,042.69 to Mathwig Excavating as per the quote.
Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. Several other roads items
need attention: bridge marker on 29th, ditch on Pine Hill
Road, dead oak trees on North Long Lake Road, gravel fill near
Rodney Hering, pull out the pier at the public landing, check the
lot lines at the dump, patching on Archer and 31st and
clear the bridge sign at The Ding.
3. Town Hall Rentals – The adult group play is scheduled
for Oct 23-26. More reservations were received for the Saxeville
church, Saxeville Players rehearsals, a family reunion and a
birthday party.
4. Treasurer’s Computer – The new computer was received
from Priestly Enterprises. Treasurer Seefelt is spending a number
of hours setting up the unit and readying it for the tax season.
5. Scott Wilson conditional use permit – The use
proposal passed at the county level. It will be monitored, looking
for residential violations.
6. Blacksmith Shop Dedication – tabled to the October
meeting.
7. There was no other unfinished business.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Town Planning Committee – Chairman Petersen will be
asking several people to volunteer to form the committee. The first
meeting is scheduled for October 1, 7 PM at the Leon Town Hall.
2. Bruce and Susan Rucks Land Division – Rucks
rearranged their lots lines in order to have a new home constructed
all on the same parcel. Motioned by Chairman Petersen, seconded by
Supervisor Timm to support the Rucks’ application for a land
variance. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. Chairman
Petersen, Clerk Cartwright and Treasurer Seefelt signed the survey
map.
3. Rural Mutual Insurance – New regulations make it
necessary for the Town to be members in the local Farm Bureau.
Rural Mutual will pay for the first year, after that the Town will
budget about $50.00 per year for the membership, beginning September
1, 2009.
4. A note of thanks was received from Scott
Construction, noting the continuing business from Saxeville.
5. There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment
and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.
The next meeting was set for Monday,
October 20, 2008, 8 PM at the town hall.
Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded
by Supervisor Timm to adjourn the meeting at 9:05 PM. Voice vote,
all in favor, motion carried.
