TOWN OF
SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN
Town Board Meeting – 4/20/2009
Notice for the meeting was posted at
the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, the Saxeville
Post Office, published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web
site. There were several visitors. All officers were present.
Chairman Timm called the meeting to order at 8:45 PM.
Donna Lind presented a case for land
division. The Lind’s would like to split the house from the farm
acres and list that as a separate item. Motioned by Supervisor
Purvis, seconded by Chairman Timm to approve the division as
proposed. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. Chairman Timm
signed the survey map that will be recorded.
THE CLERK’S REPORT
of the meeting minutes from March 16, 2009 was
read. Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Purvis to
accept the minutes as read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion
carried.
THE
TREASURER’S REPORT
from March 2009 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by
Supervisor Lind to accept the report as read. Voice vote, all in
favor, motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Waushara County Deputy – no report.
2. Roads – It was decided that the county would plow the
roads next winter. The board met with the crack fillers and set up a
road repair plan for 2009. Faulks Bros will push the brush at the
dump. The county will fix the hole on Pine Hill Road. Alp Road
leveled itself after the frost went out. Cal Jenks and Alan Manske
reported the fence damage along the cemetery south of Saxeville.
The board will meet with Al and Cal to look at the fence and come up
with a plan to repair the damage done by the snowplow.
3. Town Hall Rentals – Currently, there are rentals for
the church, mealsite, play rehearsals, Long Lake Association, boat
safety program, a graduation party and a family reunion.
4. There was no other unfinished business.
NEW BUSINESS
1.
Mike Bruenning was still questioning his fire coverage
for insurance purposes. Chairman Timm has spoken with the fire
chief at West Bloomfield; the chief doesn’t care to make a special
contract with Mike for fire coverage. The PoySippi department will
still cover Bruennings.
2.
Dave Harris, concerning the snow plowing issue, is
harassing Brian Glatz. Chairman Timm will consult Sheriff Petersen
about the matter.
3.
Bonnie Hecker inquired about obtaining a license for
selling packaged goods from the future gas station in Saxeville.
She can secure this at any time, since there is no limit on the
number of that kind of license.
4.
Maurice Snell asked about finding out local election
results. The Clerk responded that it had been announced the evening
of the election, the candidates in the races were called and the
elected officials went sent certified, return-receipt mailings. It
was suggested that another time the results could be posted on the
town’s website.
5.
There was a discussion about the town’s website. The
board received a bid from Priestly Enterprises for the work. The
website item was tabled.
6.
Fire Contracts – Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded
by Supervisor Purvis to pay the fire contracts for Poy Sippi and
Saxeville/Springwater for the 2009-2010 season. Voice vote, all in
favor, motion carried. The board signed both contracts.
7.
Road Work Contracts – Motioned by Supervisor Lind,
seconded by Supervisor Purvis to approve the contracts with Scott
Construction, totaling $87,000, for work on Archer Ave, Pine Hill
Road, 26th Road and Acorn Court. Voice vote, all in
favor, motion carried.
8.
Road Mowing – There was discussion on the mowing for
the summer. Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor
Lind to hire the county to do the roadside mowing for 2009. Voice
vote, all in favor, motion carried.
The bills were presented for
payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.
The next meeting was set for
Monday, May 18, 2009, 8 PM at the town hall.

Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn the meeting at 10:35
PM.
