Notice
for
the
meeting
was
posted
at
the
dump,
the
town
hall,
the
Leon-Saxeville
Library,
the
Saxeville
Post
Office,
published
in
the
Waushara
Argus
and
on
the
Town’s
web
site.
All
officers
were
present.
There
were
several
visitors.
Chairman
Timm
called
the
meeting
to
order
at
8:15
PM.
The
Pledge
of
Allegiance
was
spoken.
THE
CLERK’S
REPORT
of
the
meeting
minutes
from
July
20,
2009
was
read.
Motioned
by
Supervisor
Purvis,
seconded
by
Supervisor
Lind
to
accept
the
minutes
as
read.
Voice
vote,
all
in
favor,
motion
carried.
THE
TREASURER’S
REPORT
from
July
2009
was
read.
Motioned
by
Supervisor
Lind,
seconded
by
Supervisor
Purvis
to
accept
the
report
as
read.
Voice
vote,
all
in
favor,
motion
carried.
LAND
DIVISION
–
Fred
Fleck
wished
to
sell
5
˝
acres
to
his
son,
James,
off
an
82-˝
acre
parcel.
The
certified
survey
map
will
include
the
statement:
“with
an
existing
easement
of
no
described
width”.
Motioned
by
Supervisor
Purvis,
seconded
by
Supervisor
Lind
to
accept
the
land
division
as
proposed
by
Fred
and
James
Fleck.
Voice
vote,
all
in
favor,
motion
carried.
The
Board
signed
the
certified
survey
map.
FIREWORKS
PERMIT
–
Travis
Prill
requested
a
fireworks
permit
for
August
29,
2009,
at
3405
Cty
Road
A.
Water
protection
will
be
available
for
the
event.
Copies
of
the
permit
will
go
the
area
fire
departments.
Motioned
by
Supervisor
Purvis,
seconded
by
Supervisor
Lind
to
approve
a
fireworks
permit
for
Travis
Prill
for
August
29,
2009.
Voice
vote,
all
in
favor,
motion
carried.
UNFINISHED
BUSINESS
1.
Waushara
County
Deputy
–
no
report.
2.
Roads
–
Archer
and
parts
of
26th
have
been
wedged.
Potholes
on
30th
and
26th
need
filling.
Several
trees
are
down
in
the
town.
The
bill
from
the
County
for
a
1-pass
mowing
was
$3965.00.
Some
new
parts
are
needed
for
the
truck’s
sander
before
the
snow
season.
3.
Town
Hall
Rentals
–
There
are
reservations
for
the
church,
mealsite,
play
rehearsals,
Lake
Kristine
Lake
Association,
a
Christmas
party,
the
food
pantry
and
Dec
26th
tax
collections.
4.
Cemetery
Fence
–
The
fence
is
partially
repaired,
by
Cal
Jenks
and
Al
Manske.
Those
who
do
the
snowplowing
will
plow
the
snow
away
from
the
fence,
to
try
and
preserve
the
repair
job.
5.
Town
Hall
Keys
-
The
Board
has
no
idea
how
many
hall
keys
have
been
let
out.
For
safety’s
sake,
the
locks
may
have
to
be
rekeyed.
6.
Bridge
on
29th
–
No
new
information
yet.
7.
There
was
no
other
unfinished
business.
NEW
BUSINESS
1.
Roads
-
Supervisor
Purvis
took
the
WISLER
class
for
road
ratings.
The
computer
program
can
be
used
to
rate
roads,
every
second
year.
Iowa
Court
needs
signage
–
“private
drive”
or
“dead
end”
or
both.
2.
Smart
Growth
–
Wally
Petersen
reported
that
the
last
meeting
would
be
held
Tuesday,
September
1,
to
make
some
corrections.
A
public
hearing
will
be
scheduled,
followed
by
County
adoption
of
the
plan.
.
The
final
approval
is
up
to
the
Board.
The
bills
were
presented
for
payment
and
the
Clerk
was
instructed
to
pay
them.
The
next
meeting
was
set
for
Monday,
September
21,
2009
at
the
town
hall.

the
meeting
at

pm.
