UNFINISHED BUSINESS
  1. Waushara County Deputy – There was no report.
  2. Roads – Roads are being plowed and sanded as needed.  The Town will bill Keith Zwicke for labor and signs on private road, Ferrari Drive. The fuel charge card will be updated to include the current board members names.
  3. Town Hall Rentals–There are no new rentals.
  4. Town Hall Safety and Repair Issues – An electrician will be contacted to set up emergency lighting and an automatic door opener.  A first aid kit, flashlights and a defibrillator will be purchased.
  5. Highway 49 Signs (Incorrect spelling of Saxeville)– Highway Commissioner, Tom Dahlke, said the county highway department would install correct signs.
  6. Speed Limit on Archer – Highway Commissioner, Tom Dahlke, advised the Board that dropping the speed limit on that road is not a feasible issue. Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Purvis, to end discussion of the speed limit on Archer.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
  7. Road Survey on Mallas and 2nd Streets – Surveyor Pat Crier finished that project.  Many numbered photos have been taken to document this action.  There is a wider right-of-way that originally thought.  Metal stakes will be used in spring to mark the area. Some items still need to be removed from that right-of-way.
  8. Emergency Tree Removal Plan – The Board plans to remove fallen trees and brush, as quickly as is feasibly possible, to avoid dangerous situations.
  9. Fireworks Permit – Chairman Timm will sign a permit for Tom Christensen’s fireworks display on 12/31/2010 and deliver copies of the permit to the fire department and sheriff’s office.
  10. There was no other old business.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Waushara County Economic Development Corporation – Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to reject the opportunity to purchase a seat for $100.00 per year on the local Board of Directors of the WCEDC.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
  2. WI Towns Association – Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to reject an opportunity to join the 2011 Urban Towns Committee for $257.25 per year.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
  3. Poll Workers – Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Purvis to appoint Nancy Timm, Audrey Christensen, Joann Schulke, Judy Fabricius, Hattie Snell, Delores Loehrke and Harriet Hanson as poll workers for the 2011-2012 term.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
  4. Fire Department – The fire department has requested “No Parking” signs be placed in front of the department’s buildings.  The board is supportive of that plan.  It is private property and has become a safety issue when the department must respond to calls and the sides of the road are full of cars.
  5. East Long Lake Road Parking – Parking on the road near the public access is dangerous.  Cars have been parked 3 feet out on the road; it is illegal to park on the road. The Sheriff’s Department will do nothing on this issue. The Board will determine if the road can be shut off for the winter.
  6. There was no other new business.

The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.  The next meeting was set for Monday, January 17, 2011 at the town hall, following the caucus. Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Purvis to adjourn the meeting at 9:10 pm. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,

Virginia Cartwright, Town Clerk
