TOWN OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN

MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING

Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, the Saxeville Post Office, published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site. All officers were present. There were three visitors. Chairman Timm called the meeting to order at 8:05 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was spoken.

 

THE CLERK’S REPORT of the meeting minutes from December 21, 2009 was read.  Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Purvis to accept the minutes as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

THE TREASURER’S REPORT from December 2009 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to make tax overpay refunds in the amount of $8,215.96.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.  Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the report as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

1.      Waushara County Deputy – no report.

2.      Roads – The roads are being plowed and sanded as needed.  Apache Road, near Amy Madison’s home was also cleaned out.

3.      Town Hall Rentals – There are no new reservations.

4.      WTA District Meeting Feb 5, 2010, Ripon – Four officers plan to attend.

NEW BUSINESS

1.      Primary Election is set for February 16, 2010.  Three inspectors will be hired, since the voter turnout is expected to be small.

2.      Countywide Assessment – There was a small discussion about the Department of Revenue’s wish for a countywide assessment system.  The upcoming district meeting for the town will also have discussion on that item.  The Board will discuss it again in February and make their decision at the March meeting.

3.      Website – Tina Priestly was asked to add two businesses (Malchow’s and Penterman’s) to the town’s website. Mr Blader’s e-mail address will be removed from the site.

4.      Length of Service Award Program (LOSA) – Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Purvis to pay $6,818.20 for the program.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The towns of Mt Morris and Springwater will each be billed for their third of the costs.

 

The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.  The next meeting was set for Monday, February 15, 2010 at the town hall. Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Chairman Timm to adjourn the meeting at 9:15 pm. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
