THE TREASURER’S REPORT from April 2010 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the report as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

1.      Waushara County Deputy – Sheriff Peterson spoke of a couple fires and several burglaries and vandalisms in our area.  He encouraged all to be alert to and report any suspicious vehicles that may lead to solving crimes.  In spite of the frugal budget, video cameras with voice recording have been obtained for the squad cars.  Water patrol for the lakes is in place.  There is on-going training that included noise control on boats.

2.      Roads – The summer repair work hasn’t begun yet.  Many road signs have been stolen and need replacement.  The driveway staked for the church property at A and TT will have to go through zoning.

3.      Town Hall Rentals – There was a new reservation for May 23; Cassie Ulrich, birthday party.  The Board received a thank-you card from the Saxeville Community Church for allowing the church members to meet at the town hall.

4.      Public Access – The new pier has been installed at the public access boat landing.  It is a 6’ wide pier with bumpers for a cost of $4,691.25.

5.      There was no other old business.

NEW BUSINESS

1.       Roads – The brush near the bridges needs cutting.  A different solution for handling the brush at the dump may be needed; it could become a liability issue.  Supervisor Purvis will get information on that topic from the County for the June meeting.  The parking lot at the public access needs to be expanded by two stalls.  Chairman Timm will contact someone for that job.  The Board intends to post an ad to sell the old pier.  A suggested price was $500.  Bids could be opened at the June meeting.

2.      Waushara County Resource Tourism Committee.  Motioned by Chairman Timm, seconded by Supervisor Purvis to appoint Kevin Thiemer for a 2-year term to the committee.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

3.      Fireworks Permit – Kevin Thiemer requested a permit for July 4th fireworks.  Supervisor Timm will sign the permit.  A copy of the permit is presented to the local fire department.

The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.  The next meeting was set for Monday, June 21, 2010 at the town hall. Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn the meeting at 9:55 pm. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,

Virginia Cartwright, Town Clerk
