TOWN OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN

MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING

 

Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, the Saxeville Post Office, published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site. There were two visitors. All officers were present. Chairman Timm called the meeting to order at 8:05 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was spoken.

  THE CLERK’S REPORT of the meeting minutes from September 20, 2010 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

 THE TREASURER’S REPORT from September 2010 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Purvis to accept the report as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

         UNFINISHED BUSINESS

  1. Waushara County Deputy – There was no report.
  2. Roads – Repair work on 30th Road was completed. A culvert was installed on 1st Street.  Mark Carlovsky was contacted about the surveying at Mallas and 2nd Streets; he plans to begin it the week of October 18. The roads will be checked for any overhanging trees that need cutting.
  3. Town Hall Rentals–Reservations are: 12/18-Christmas Party and 12/26 and 1/7/2011 by Jeanne Christensen.
  4. Public Access Dock – Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Purvis to put a “For Sale - $250.00 or best offer” sign on the old dock at the public access.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.  Supervisor Purvis will also put the dock on Craig’s List.
  5. There was no other old business.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Election 11/2/10  - The Clerk will hire five poll workers, since the voter turnout is expected to be somewhat heavy.  Another poll worker, utilized for registrations only, will be hired.  Her duty is to handle all the paperwork for the new registrations on Election Day.
  2. 2011 Budget – the numbers for expected income and disbursements for Saxeville for 2011 were assembled.  The general property taxes for the Town could be down by about $22,000 for 2011.
  3. There was no other new business.

 The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.  The next meeting was set for Monday, November 15, 2010 at the town hall. Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 pm. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
