NEW BUSINESS
- Terry Purvis – outgoing town board member thoughts: a. The Town should hire a company for the snow plowing. The town-owned truck is functional but in poor repair. b. The County may have to discontinue the main snow plowing, another reason to company-hire snow work. c. Brushing along road shoulders needs to be done. None was done in the last 2 years. This is another reason to hire a company for roadwork. Supervisor Lind mentioned many extra things Terry had accomplished during his term of office: replaced ceiling tiles, marked or etched town tools and equipment, organized the shop area, automatic door opener installation, repair of cemetery fence, survey work at 2nd and Mallas Streets, and hall cell phone. Terry said he loved working for the Town and wanted to become Saxeville’s first “official volunteer”. He offered to continue working on the WISLAR software (town road rating computer program). The Board thanked Mr Purvis for his service to the Town.
- Fire Service Contracts – The Board signed the fire protection contracts for 2011-2012: Saxeville/Springwater Fire Dept @ $27,875.74 and PoySippi Fire Dept @ $10,935.53.
- Town Credit Card – Motioned by Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to order new credit cards with the 3 board members as signers. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
- Public Comment – It was noted that burning permits are required now. You can apply for a yearly permit online. Permission is needed for each burn, effective after 6 pm.
- There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them. The next meeting was set for Monday, May 16, 2011 at the town hall. Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Hansen to adjourn the meeting at 10:05 pm. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
