Annual Town Meeting Minutes, 4/18/2011

 

Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the Saxeville Post Office, the Leon-Saxeville Library and posted on the Town’s website.

 

Chairman Jason Timm called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm.  The Pledge of Allegiance was spoken.  All officers were present.

 

The Clerk’s report of the minutes from 4/19/2010 was read.  Motioned by Mike Lind, seconded by Ken Hansen to accept the minutes as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

 

The voters received a copy of the Treasurer’s report from 2010.  The Treasurer read the year-end balance in the treasury: PoySippi Fire Department $10,000 and the Town Checkbook $68,034.78. Motioned by Ken Hansen, seconded by Mike Lind to accept the report as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

      1. Road Work Completed in 2010 – The single seal for 30th was cancelled. Basically the plan for 2010 was completed with the projects on 28^th Rd, 30^th Dr, Archer Ave, and 26^th Rd.

 

NEW BUSINESS

1. Road Work Planned for 2011 – seal coat on Archer Ave, 30^th Rd from A to M, Alp Drive, 29^th Dr, from A to Akron, and part of Pine Hill Rd.
2. Leon-Saxeville Library Report – No report given.  Collette Ross is the new library director.
3. Tornado Siren – Is it working?  It has been inactive since 2006.  Mechanical parts are no longer available.  Not cost effective to repair for the small area it covers. Sheriff Petersen reported that the County has some funds available for siren use.  Mr John Tucker volunteered to do some checking on updating the siren.
4. The Open Book Session on 5/12/11, 5-7pm and Board of Review on 5/12/11, 7-9pm were noted.

 

ADJOURN – Motioned by Ken Hansen, seconded by Terry Purvis to adjourn the meeting at 8:40 pm.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.  The next meeting was set for Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Saxeville Town Hall.
