 MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING

 

Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, the Saxeville Post Office, published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site. There were 5 visitors. All officers were present. Chairman Timm called the meeting to order at 8:10 pm.

 

THE CLERK’S REPORT of the meeting minutes from November 21, 2011 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

THE TREASURER’S REPORT from November 2011 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the report as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

 

PROPOSED VARIANCE the Town Board of Saxeville heard Tom and Charlotte Catlin’s proposal for a variance in accordance with Section 58-232(3) of the Waushara County Zoning Code to construct a 24’ X 24’ second story addition, onto an existing detached garage, finished height being 23’, (maximum height of 18’ and one story accessory structure required), in the RS-20 zone, within the shoreland area on an approximate 2-acre parcel of land known as Lot 2 of Certified Survey Map #45, also known as Lot 11 of Ehrenberg unrecorded plat, being part of the NE ¼ of the SE ¼, Section 7, T20N, Town of Saxeville, Long Lake, W4511 Shagbark Lane. It was motioned by Chairman Timm and seconded by Supervisor Hansen, with voice vote all in favor, to fully support Tom and Charlotte Catlin’s application for the said variance. The Clerk was asked to send a copy of the letter of Board approval to County Zoning and MM Tom Catlin.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
  1. Waushara County Sheriff – No deputy was present.
  2. Roads – 26th Road, n. of Saxeville and N Long Lake Road have many areas with trees in the plow line that need attention. Supervisor Hansen cut some trees on N Long Lake Rd; he and Mr Catlin will do more brushing in that area.
  3. Town Hall Rentals – New reservations were received for Jan.8 (Jeanne Christensen), Jan 21 (Gail Schulke), Dec 2 (Mike Lind), Feb 6 & 13, March 5 & 12 (First Responder Class).
  4. There was no other old business.

 

NEW BUSINESS

1.       Appointment of Election Officials – Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Hansen to appoint Hattie Snell, Delores Loehrke, Joann Schulke, Audrey Christensen, Judith Fabricius, Harriet Hanson, Deneise Hartman and Nancy Timm as election officials for the 2-year term, 1/1/2012 – 12/31/2013.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

  1. Poll Workers – After discussion it was motioned by Chairman Timm, seconded by Supervisor Hanson to adopt the following resolution:  “Be it hereby resolved that, pursuant to s. 7.32, WI Stat, the minimum number of election officials required to work at the polling place during a town election is three (3).  However, the Clerk may assign additional poll workers if he/she believes they are needed for a given election.  The number of poll workers shall always be an odd number.” Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
  2. Public Comment – Following an auto accident on Nov 3 on Pine Hill Rd, folks had difficulty contacting 911.  It took 50 minutes for the ambulance to respond.  Fire Chief Schabor will contact AT & T and check on the availability of that service.
  3. Public Comment – The “Clean Boats, Clean Waters” program is working well on Long Lake. About 800 boats went through the system from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  It was suggested that charging “use” or “launching” fees could generate some extra revenues.  This is a topic for further discussion.
  4. There was no other old business.

 

CORRESPONDENCE - A letter was received from “The Saxeville Players” thanking the Board for the many times the group had used the town hall.  They indicated that the group decided to disband at the end of 2011.

 

BILLS - The bills were presented for payment. Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Hanson to pay the bills. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. Jerry Loehrke should receive $280 for the backhoe and labor. The LOSA payment was tabled to the January 2012 meeting.

 

ADJOURN - Motioned by Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn the meeting at 9:05 pm.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The next meeting was set for Monday, January 16, 2012 at the town hall.
