TOWN OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN

MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING

 

Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, the Saxeville Post Office, published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site. There were several visitors. All officers were present. Chairman Timm called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm.

 

THE CLERK’S REPORT of the meeting minutes from January 21, 2011 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

 THE TREASURER’S REPORT from January 2011 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Purvis to accept the report as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind, to issue 15 checks in the amount of $2,298.86 for tax overpay refunds.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The idea of starting a “new truck fund” will be discussed at a future time.

 

LAND DIVISIONS – 1. Pat Krier, present at the meeting, explained how he had surveyed out 8 acres from a 100+-acre parcel on the north side of Long Lake for Art Herman.  Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Purvis to accept Art Herman’s land division in Section 7, as proposed.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.  2.  The Board studied a survey map done for Roger Christensen, but was unsure of the intended divisions.  Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to table the Christensen land division to the March meeting in order to gain more information on that project.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

  

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
  1. Waushara County Sheriff – No deputy was present.
  2. Roads – Brian Glatz is no longer plowing for the town; he took another job.  Clyde Wendlandt has offered his services as a backup driver.  Supervisor Purvis removed a tree from Willow St, in the Nutter subdivision, that was completely crossing the road.  Supervisor Purvis etched the new garage tools with the town’s name.  The workbench area in the garage has been wired, along with automatic light sensors in the bathrooms and emergency lighting in both bathrooms and the main hall.
  3. Town Hall Rentals–There are no new rentals.
  4. There was no other old business.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Town Website – There was a request for new listings on the website.  The Board would like to include information for sources for Christmas tree purchases and locations of local cemeteries.  Cottage rentals will not be listed; the link to Waushara County can be included for that information.
  2. Keith and Mary Zwicke questioned Lake Kristine Association paying for a street sign, installed by the county.  The board reminded them that Ferrari Drive is a private road and the town isn’t responsible for signage on private drives.
  3. Ed Schaber, newly elected Saxeville/Springwater Fire Dept. Chief, visited with the Board.  He wishes to have a very open-ended relationship with the Town Board and be able to discuss all department issues that arise.
  4. Town Hall Cleaning – Karen Hanson has acquired some prices for hall cleaning.  A. Floors – Country Komfort would strip and apply 4 coats of wax for $900.00, Russ’ Carpet and Flooring would strip and wax (2 coats) for $350.00.  Russ’ did the floor last in 2009. It was decided to hire Russ’ Carpet and Flooring to strip and wax the floor on a late-March date. B. General Cleaning – Sue Kettelwell offered her services for $20.00/hour, using town supplies or $25.00/hour, using her supplies. Motioned by supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to hire Sue Kettelwell for town hall cleaning at $25.00/hour.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
  5. There was no other new business.

 

The bills were presented for payment.  Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to pay all bills as presented. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.  The next meeting was set for Monday, March 21, 2011 at the town hall. Motioned by Supervisor Purvis, seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn the meeting at 9:16 1/2 pm. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
