MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING

 

Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, the Saxeville Post Office, published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site. There was one visitor. All officers were present. Chairman Timm called the meeting to order at 8:15 pm.

 

THE CLERK’S REPORT of the meeting minutes from June 20, 2011 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

 

THE TREASURER’S REPORT from June 2011 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the report as read.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

 

ASSESSOR, JOHN BLADER told the Board about the newest state-mandated property assessment program.  All the paper property records need to be converted to a computer software program.  The cost for the program license is $390.00, annually.  The cost for the input of the information is about $5240.00, payable when that phase of the work is complete. Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Hansen to purchase the assessment computer software and amend Mr Blader’s contract to reflect the additional fees for the additional work.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.  Mr Blader and the Board signed the revised assessor contract.

 
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
  1. Waushara County Sheriff – No deputy was present.
  2. Roads – Scott Construction submitted the work bill for $101,027.30 for 2011 repairs.  A stop sign is needed on 2nd Street. A washout on Iowa Court needs fixing. The Board approved the work of Green Resources, LLC, Suamico, WI, to clean up all the brush at the dump, approx. 30 hours at $450.00/hr.
  3. Town Hall Rentals – there is one new rental – October 2 by Annette Klick for a baby shower. Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Chairman Timm to purchase one brown floor mat for $125.00 for the town hall.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried
  4. There was no other old business.

 

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Town Website – Tina Priestly proposed some website updates for a cost of $400.00.  Motioned by Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to renew the website maintenance contract for 1 year at the current cost of $1020.00, without updates.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
  2. Town Tractor & Mower – Supervisor Hansen moved the mower tractor from the Fire Department building to his home. He plans to donate his time to get it back in running order.  The rider mower tractor has a broken deck; perhaps they can obtain a larger deck unit from Bowen’s, Berlin. The town hall mowing is rough on all these machines.  Supervisor Hansen’s mower is wrecked from use at the hall.
  3. There was no other new business.

 

The bills were presented for payment. The Clerk was instructed to pay them. Motioned by Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn the meeting at 9:20 pm.  Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The next meeting was set for Monday, August 15, 2011 at the town hall.
