MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING
Notice for the meeting was posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library, the Saxeville Post Office, published in the Waushara Argus and on the Town’s web site. There were several visitors. All officers were present. Chairman Timm called the meeting to order at 8:15 pm.
THE CLERK’S REPORT of the meeting minutes from April 18, 2011 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Chairman Timm to accept the minutes as read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
THE TREASURER’S REPORT from April 2011 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Chairman Timm to accept the report as read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT – Shelly Christie presented her plan to establish a residential garden design center with outdoor displays, demonstrations and retail sales, utilizing a proposed 30’ X 76’ greenhouse on the A-G (general agricultural) zone at W3280 Akron Ct. Motioned by Chairman Timm, seconded by Supervisor Hansen to support Mrs. Christie in her garden design center business. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
- Waushara County Sheriff – No deputy was present.
- Roads – The Board will meet to do road inspections. The culvert area on Akron needs repair. The County is scheduled to fix the potholes on 30th Rd. The pier at the public access was put in on May 14th. The port-a-potty is stationed there too.
- Town Hall Rentals–There is a new rental for Angela and Dean Julius for May 21. Treasurer Hanson and Supervisor Hansen checked prices on floor mats and rug cleaning services. Motioned by Chairman Timm, seconded by Supervisor Hansen to table the floor mat issue to the June meeting. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The Clerk was asked to send a thank you note to the Community Church for their donation of floor mats for the town hall.
- Public Comment – John Nigbor asked the Board for help in enforcing the County noise ordinance in his area. There have been very loud events for six weekends in a row. The Sheriff and County Zoning each think it is the other’s responsibility. Chairman Timm will speak with Sheriff Peterson and Terri Dopp-Paukstat, Zoning Administrator.
- There was no other old business.
NEW BUSINESS
- Fire Chief, Ed Schaber talked about the old school house in Saxeville. It needs a roof. He’s searching for a “save our old schools” grant to help with the project.
- There was no other new business.
The bills were presented for payment. Motioned by Chairman Timm, seconded by Supervisor Hansen to pay all bills. The next meeting was set for Monday, June 20, 2011 at the town hall. Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by Supervisor Hansen to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 pm. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
