SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA COUNTY, WISCONSIN

MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING
Notice for the meeting was
posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville
Library, the
Saxeville Post Office, published in the
Waushara
Argus and on the Town’s web site. There were a few visitors.
All officers were present. Chairman Timm called the meeting
to order at
8:10pm.
THE CLERK’S
REPORT
of the meeting minutes from
August 15,
2011 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Hansen,
seconded by Supervisor
Lind to
accept the minutes as read. Voice vote,
all in favor, motion carried.
THE
TREASURER’S REPORT
from August
2011 was read. Motioned by Supervisor Hansen,
seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the report as read.
Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
-
Waushara
County Sheriff – No deputy was present.
-
Roads – The 3 board
members spent about 20 hours cleaning up several areas
after the severe storms. Anderson Tree Service was also
called to help with the cleanup. There are
signs on N Long Lake Rd, E Long Lake Rd, 30th and
Aspen
and near Tom Christensen’s that are missing. Snow
plowing was discussed; Chairman Timm will talk with Tom
Dahlke about the county doing plowing.
Motioned by Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Supervisor
Lind to accept the bid from Mathwig’s for the culvert
work near Kasuboski’s for $2445.00. Voice vote, all in
favor, motion carried. The board will meet
on Sept
23 to view and rate the roads for the state
rating system.

Town Hall Rentals – there
are 2 new rentals: Dee Hartmann (3rd Thur of
each month,
6-9 pm
and Kristi Smith (Oct 1).
-
The Clerk was asked to
print signs for posting at the hall that noted the “No
Concealed Weapons” law.

Motioned by Supervisor
Hansen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to use the “Employee
Grievance Procedure” that was proposed.
Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The clerk was
asked to type the document and the board will sign it on
Sept 23.

There was no other old
business.
NEW BUSINESS
-
Flag Pole – Motioned by
Supervisor Hansen, seconded by Supervisor Lind to
replace the damaged poles with one that would fly both
the American and
Wisconsin
flags. Voice vote, all in favor, motion
carried. The poles had been damaged in
spring storms.

MaryAnn and Rich
Magee
were present to seek some assistance in finding a remedy
for drainage/culvert problem near their residence.
It has been a source of irritation since 1991.
The board will inspect the area and come up with
a solution to help drain away the water.

Suzanne Ziemer,
Long Lake
representative, was present to speak about he public
accesses on the lake. She is thankful for the many
volunteers who help manage the “Clean boats, clean
water” program. Two of the entry points are not well
marked. The landowners next to the
right-of-way areas are “creeping in”.
There are some septic tanks and boathouses, where the
placement of such items is a zoning issue. Land “use
charge” was discussed; who polices that? There are
several problems in these access areas.

Fire Chief – Ned Schabor
reported that their budget is up for next year.
The fire department has between 120 and 140 calls
per year. About 75% of the calls are for
rescue.

There was no other new
business.
The bills were presented for payment. The Clerk was
instructed to pay them. Motioned by Supervisor Hansen,
seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn the meeting at
9:45 pm.
Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The next
meeting was set for
Monday,
October 17, 2011 at the town hall.
