PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED BUDGET FOR 2005
November 15, 2004
Notice for the three meetings was
posted at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library,
mailed to and published in the Waushara Argus and published on
the Towns web site. Chairman Petersen called the meeting to
order. All officers except Treasurer Seefelt were present.
Assessor John Blader spoke to the
assembly about the many assessment law changes for 2005; some
laws were revised to try to give farmers a tax break and keep
them in the farming business. Currently we are at 76.47%;
therefore a reassessment will take place in 2005 to get to 100%
or within 10% of that. John will send out notices of changes in
assessments in April 2005.
Several questions were asked about
the budget numbers for the town hall loan, library, brush & mow,
state highway aids.
SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
Motioned by Len Brasch, seconded
by Karen Hanson to adopt the 2004 town tax levy of $211,420.85,
to be paid in 2005. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
Motioned by Len Brasch, seconded
by Karen Hanson to approve the salaries of the town elected
officials to be elected in April 2005 as noted in the budget.
Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
REGULAR MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING
Chairman Petersen called the
meeting to order.
Motioned by Supervisor Hess,
seconded by Supervisor Lind to amend the order of the agenda to
accommodate the visitors. Voice vote, all in favor, motion
carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Brenda Brasch Land Division
Brenda was not present to discuss the land division.
Neighbors Russ and Wendy Wendt reported that Brenda had not
discussed the division with them.

Amy Friday Land Division
Amy was not present to discuss the land division. The Clerk
was asked to make this a December agenda item.

Mining Permit a
representative for A.F.Gelhar requested a non-metallic
mining permit for the south end of the Robbert property.
The sand derived from the area is for foundry use. Motioned
by Chairman Petersen, second by Supervisor Hess to support
the conditional use permit for non-metallic mining on the
Robbert property. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

Michael and Laura Heimann
Variance Motioned by Supervisor Lind, seconded by
Supervisor Hess to support the driveway variance at County
Roads W and TT for MM Michael Heimann. Voice vote, all in
favor, motion carried.

Fire Chief Tim Jenks There
was still a question of mutual aid for structure fires at
the Harold Hanson property area. It was decided that both
Chiefs Tom Marini (PoySippi) and Tim Jenks (Saxeville-Springwater)
would change the computer system at the county, so both
departments respond to all fire and rescue calls.

Roads Scott Construction
finished shoulder work on 29th and Archer for
$6,655.50 and the County did minor black topping for
$296.65.

Budget Motioned by
Supervisor Hess, seconded by Supervisor Lind to adopt the
2005 budget for $310,138.35. Voice vote, all in favor,
motion carried.

There was no other unfinished
business.
NEW BUSINESS
-
Variance The Board supported
a variance for Richard and Julie Tschoeke for a garage 40
instead of 60 from the centerline.

The Board signed the consent
form for Adams-Columbia to provide electric service in our
area.

Snow Plowing Supervisor Hess
will check with Glen Erdman and Brian Glatz for plowing the
town roads for the 2004-2005 season. Mr. Erdman will need
proof of insurance.

There was no other new
business.
The bills were presented for payment and the Clerk was
instructed to pay them.
The next meeting was set for
Monday, December 20, 2004, 8 PM at the town hall.

seconded by Supervisor Lind to adjourn the meeting at 10:10 PM.
Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
