TOWN OF SAXEVILLE, WAUSHARA
COUNTY, WISCONSIN
Meetings – November 21, 2005
Notice for the meetings was posted
at the dump, the town hall, the Leon-Saxeville Library,
published in the Waushara Argus and the Town’s web site. Vern
Hess, Karen Hanson, Becky Horvath, Maureen VanAmerongen and
Linda Forseth were visitors. All officers except Treasurer
Seefelt were present. Chairman Petersen called the first
meeting to order at 8:05 PM.

ASSESSOR JOHN BLADER addressed
the assembly. He has been attending classes and his
certification is valid until 2012. The current assessed
value of properties is at 98.68% of the equalized value. We
could stay in compliance for about 4 more years. His next
batch of fieldwork will begin in late December. Board of
Review will be set for the 2nd or 3rd
week in May 2006.

PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED
BUDGET FOR 2006 – The proposed budget was studied. Several
items were discussed: the extra amount in workman’s
compensation, more dollars for roadwork (higher oil prices),
$50.00 per month for meal site rent.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING –
Motioned by Jason Timm, seconded by Vern Hess to adopt the
2005 town tax levy of $212,256.38 to be paid in 2006. Voice
vote, all in favor, motion carried.

REGULAR MONTHLY TOWN BOARD
MEETING
The Clerk’s report of the meeting
minutes from October 17, 2005 was read. Motioned by Supervisor
Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to accept the minutes as
read. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried. The
Treasurer’s report from October 2005 was read. Motioned by
Chairman Petersen, seconded by Supervisor Timm to accept the
report. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.

Unfinished Business
a.
Roads – The County is doing the snow
plowing. The town truck has been readied for winter use.
Reflectors will be put up on dark roads. Some trees on Lake
Street need removing. The signs for the Long Lake Association
for “adopt a highway” are finished. The drop-off at the lake
access will be repaired in spring. Mrs. Erdman plans to continue
with the snowplow business; a letter of insurance will be needed
from her. Dan Behm’s road received 6 loads of gravel at
$1500.00. Chairman Petersen cleared brush at the dump.
Supervisor Timm cut up some downed trees off 1st
Street.
b.
Town Hall Rentals – Barb Hansen
rented the hall for November 27 for a scrapbookking party,
Verlyn Schulke, December 17, for a Christmas party and December
25, by the Farmer family for a Christmas dinner.
c.
Crossroads Café – Mr. Sloan does not
have the paperwork complete at this time.
d.
Adopt the 2006 Budget – Motioned by
Supervisor Timm, seconded by Supervisor Lind to adopt the 2006
Budget as presented. Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
e.
There was no other unfinished
business.

a.
There was no new business.
The bills were presented for
payment and the Clerk was instructed to pay them.
The next meeting was set for
Monday, December 19, 8:00 PM at the Town Hall.
Motioned by Supervisor Lind,
seconded by Supervisor Timm to adjourn the meeting at 9:20 PM.
Voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
